It takes underpowered, slow-poke vessels two days and one night to transit the canal, due to labor regulations; therefore one ends up accommodating the rented line handlers. On a boat barely capable of accommodating an intimate couple, and provisioned for months at sea, the addition of several strapping young men presents some interesting challenges.
